Smart TV Ownership Expands, But High-End Sets See Less Growth

}
As U.S. consumers replace their television sets, they typically buy one that can be hooked up to the internet directly without the need for a plug-in streaming device. The portion of U.S. households that own a smart TV grew from 70% in 2021 to 79% this year, according to a survey by Hub Entertainment Research.

Among those people who buy new sets, more than half (56%) have a 4K-capable model that is capable of showing high-resolution video. That percentage is up slightly from 55% last year, a sign that these higher-end models aren’t driving growth in CTV.
